Is no one going to mention the most obvious Virginian of them all? The ultimate super star of 18th century Virginia. Ole GW? The man who had two horses shot out from under him and four bullet holes shot through his coat during Braddocks defeat? The man who fell into the icy river on his way back from Ohio and didn't even get frostbite! Come on. I've gotta vote for George. He was a legend in his own time. And let's face it, if GW would have refused to take over the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War just what do you think all of these other Great and Most Important Virginians would be? IMHO they'd be English subject that's what they'd be. ;-} Lonny Watro Short Gap, WV Lonny To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe, please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-hist.html
