No, I haven't seen this...dare I say travesty...yet and I'm not sure I will. From the previews, it is a perpetuation of the John Smith-Pocahontas "romance" which never happened...she was a child and there are indications that John Smith made up the story to make himself look like a hero! I direct interested folks to: _http://www.powhatan.org/pocc.html_ (http://www.powhatan.org/pocc.html) and their interpretation of "The Pocahontas Myth." Very interesting from the Powhatan Renape Nation. However, I am interested in anyone who sees the movie and their take on it. Thanks... Marilynn Munn Strand [log in to unmask] (mailto:[log in to unmask]) P.S. Yes, I do have Jamestown ancestors...the Brownings who didn't arrive till the 1620's. P.P.S. Roger Ebert and his partner gave this two very high thumbs up, stating that it is a truly beautifully filmed movie and should be seen by all. Really...Colin Farrell as John Smith?
