For people interested in the Virginia Gazette, Richard Beale Davis supervised a 1962 dissertation by William H. Castles, Jr., at the University of Tennessee. The title is "The 'Virginia Gazette,' 1736-1766: Its Editors, Editorial Policies, and Literary Content," and it does a very nice job of describing the material in the paper. Its a very useful resource for those of us interested in Virginia history. ---- Original message ---- >Date: Wed, 15 Sep 2004 11:02:45 -0700 >From: Anderson <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: "Virginia Gazette Index" >To: [log in to unmask] > >"Virginia Gazette Index, 1736-1780" was published in 1950 by The Institute >of Early American History and Culture, Williamsburg, Virginia. > >Sounds like a good resource for Virginia historians. > >To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe, please see the instructions >at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-hist.html Kevin R.
