In a letter dated 28 Jun 1853, to Mr. J.L.B. Gosnell in Martinsburg, VA.
from his father, he writes:

>I do not intend to tarnish the good reputation I have established by
>relaxing in my duties to the Government. The Chimney Cornerites may talk
>as loud as they please about bobtail ponys & 10 thousand dollar houses. I
>shall do my duty and trust to the Administration to sustain me.

What were Chimney Cornerites??
