some of the existing stone-paved streets in Alexandria are supposed to have been laid by Hessians Harris Kern 703-971-5365 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Randy Cabell" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Tuesday, April 16, 2002 7:56 PM Subject: Virginian Structures & Hessians Is there an inventory somewhere of home, and other structures in Virginia which were built by Hessian Prisoners during the Revolutionary War? I am aware of the Mill at Millwood Virginia (which is really unique in that the water courses through the interior of the mill rather than impinging on a whilee outside), and 'Saratoga', Daniel Morgan's home in what is now Clarke County. But I have heard of a home (Gray Gables?) west of Staunton which reportedly was built by them.
