This might be a starting point, if you can use just the difference in the
value of the dollar. Obviously, this won't take into consideration the
changes in assessment.

Subject: Equivalent Value

I'm wondering if there are any sets of curves or tables that can estimate
the equivalent value of estates and property from previous years. For
instance what is the present day value of a $1500 estate of 1820 in
Petersburg, VA. I could see where you could use average hourly wage, or
possibly cost per acreage, or stock market average (once it started).
Trouble is everything seems very conditional and possibly subjective. Any
suggestions would be welcomed. Perry
