Isn't this part of the series of documents published by the Virginia
Historical Society in the 1880s?

I can't recall offhand what might be in volume 8, but I know that this was
the series that included the Dinwiddie papers and the Spotswood letters. I
believe it also included extended excerpts from the Records of the Virginia
Company (LC - Jefferson Papers series (8) ) edited either by Brock or Conway
Robinson. There were other volumes as well.

Subject: Help with an inidentifiable Va. history source

We've had a reference question asking us to identify a citation from vol.
32, p. 414 of the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography. The citation
is to "Va. Hist.
Collections, vol. 8, p. 278." We've not been able to identify the source
referred to--it isn't the Calendar of Virginia State Papers, or the Virginia
Historical Register and it
isn't Howe's Historical Collections of Virginia . We're stumped. I'm sure
we're overlooking something painfully obvious. Any suggestions (to me at

would be greatly appreciated.
