From Annette Chenault, Lynchburg Planning & Development Office Please make your neighbors and the coalition group aware of a free public seminar to be held on Wednesday, May 30 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., in the second floor training room, City Hall, to discuss the "Benefits of Historic Preservation," which will include a discussion on various benefits and advantages of living and owning property in a historic district. The seminar will also include a discussion of issues related to using "Alternative Materials," the appropriateness of and when to use modern materials on historic buildings and structures with a focus on using artificial siding. The program is sponsored by the City's Department of Community Planning Development and the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Mr. Robert Carter, Director of the Capitol Region Office in Petersburg, and Mr. Mike Pulice, Architectural Historian at the Roanoke Office, will be present to lead the discussion. This will be an informal session and you will be encouraged to ask questions during the discussion.
