Kudos to Kukla and co-sponsors, Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation, for the re-enactment of the 1799 debate between Patrick Henry and John Randolph at Charlotte Court House and the first annual Henry Lecture by Don Higginbotham on the relationship between Washington and Henry! Well done! It was standing room only in the court house for the lecture and a great round of applause for the re-enactors and for Don Higginbotham. All in all, it was a great day for Virginia history buffs. It was well worth the 400+ mile round trip Sunday drive from Northern Virginia! (Well, I returned to Springfield via Appomatox Historic Park, but maybe something in Richmond next year??? Henry had some of his better days there, didn't he?)
