You still have time to register for the 29th annual Straight to the Source program on Friday, March 31, at the Library of Virginia.

Once again, Library of Virginia staff have prepared presentations about research opportunities and new discoveries. Lydia Neuroth discusses her work on Virginia Untold, which provides access points to the individual stories of African Americans who lived in Virginia from the establishment of slavery in the 1600s until its demise in 1865. Reference archivist William Bynum guides you through records from the Virginia Department of Military Affairs that recently came to light and adds information to the service of Virginians during the period 1876 to 1947. Virginia Dunn offers tips and tricks for navigating the LVA catalog and discusses recent upgrades. Finally, learn the story behind the 200 stories celebrating the 200th anniversary exhibit of the Library. Dr. Greg Kimball, director of Public Services and Outreach, concludes his program with a tour of the exhibit and explains how “Lady Luck” plays a part.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear directly from the experienced staff at the Library of Virginia about their latest projects and discoveries.

For registration information and a copy of the program, visit the Friends website, https://friendsvirginiaarchives.org<https://friendsvirginiaarchives.org/>, or send an email to [log in to unmask] The registration deadline is March 27th.

Hope to see you there.
