there was an Obediah Reynolds on the 1784 Head of Families List in 
Cumberland Co., VA.  I did not see anyone named "Reynolds" on the earlier 
1768 List of Tithes, nor on the 1782 Tax Roll, for Cumberland Co., VA. 
There was then a Samuel Reynolds on the 1810 Cumberland Co., VA census (age 
26-45), as well as an Obediah Reynolds (age over 45)....plus one other 
Reynolds man....all as shown here:
