I am looking for the parents and/or siblings of Eliza McKee, who was born
between 1800 - 1810 and was married to Eleazer Rouse (Eliazer Rause) in
Washington County VA on 23 January 1823. I am also trying to determine if
she is the Eliza Rouse who married Edward Mitchell in Indiana after Eleazer
died in Indiana in 1848.
Was Andy/Andrew McKee her brother or other relative? H e worked with Eleazer
Rouse (b. btw. 1790-1800) in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana when
they first moved there.
There is an Andrew McKee on the same page with these McKees in the 1830
Washington County VA federal census (below). Also listed is a John McClure
who may or may not be a relative of Eleazer Rouse's mother Virginia McClure.

Eliza McKee was age 20 and under 30 in the 1830 Washington County Virginia
federal census, and Eleazer was age 30 and under 40. They moved to Columbus,
Bartholomew County, Indiana about 1833, according to other researchers. In
the 1840 Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana federal census, Eliza was 30
and under 40, and Eleazer was age 40 and under 50.
After the death of Eleazer Rouse, Eliza (McKee) Rouse may have remarried,
but I have not been able to verify whether or not it was to the Edward
Mitchell mentioned below. The quotation is from an anonymous work that I am
told was done by Linda Oliver.
"There is one marriage that I cannot account for: Bartholomew Co., book 4,
page 295 - Edward Mitchell to Eliza Rouse, by Michael Vanarsdel, M. G. April
9, 1850. (1850 census: Bartholomew Co., Columbus Twp., Ind. On page 318 is
Edward Mitchell 56 yrs., male, farmer, born VA. And Eliza 41 yrs. Female,
born VA. With the following children: Catherine 27 yers. Old, female born
KY.; George 24 yers., male, laborer, born KY.; Sucieta 20 yrs., female, born
Ind.; James E. 15 yrs., male, born Ind. And Eliza 12." Some text was cut off
on the copy that I have."
In summary, do you know what Eliza McKee's parents and/or siblings were? Do
you know if she married Edward Mitchell in 1850 after Eleazer died in 1848?
