Hi, Karen. Everyone was new once, and usually not long ago. Here are Virginia websites that deal with Virginia and NC families, but NO family in particular. Jump in and ask your questions, but not more than 1 or 2 per note, please. Very few, if any, of us have time to answer a long series of questions, but most will help a tad.
It would do you well to subscribe to these sites, at least so long as you are seeking VA/NC/Tidewater South family lines Good luck. Paul

Dear Paul: I am new to the message boards, and I am little confused as to
how they work. Is Varoots a family name. On some of the boards, I am
having problems figuring out, just who is looking for whom?
Suggestions welcome. I am looking for Bates families (from Jamestown -
John Bates - and we do belong to BFOOV), and hopefully some Hutchison's and
its variants.
Would also like to find the children of Thomas Ferrell, Sr, of Caswell Co.,
N.C., (Originally Virginia) who's wife was from Lower Norfolk Co., and see
if he had a son named David. I know he had a son named John. Thomas
Ferrell, was born in 1730, in Virginia.
Thanks. karen
