Being from VA, he almost surely was 14 or a tad older. Paul

Subject: AGE OF ORPHAN IN CHOOSING GUARDIAN

According to the court order book of Cumberland Co, VA on 25 Mar 1754,
William FLIPPEN, Orphan of Thomas FLIPPEN, deceased came into court and "being of
lawful age for that purpose", made choice of Pritchet FIELD to be his Guardian,
with John ROWLAND and Joseph EPPERSON, his securities entered.

My question is what would be the possible age range of William FLIPPEN?

  Ruby Talley Smith
