Our country is about to endure the most divisive political campaign since
1860.  We need to maintain a few places, such as this list, where we can
continue to talk to one another with civility.

I would hope the list managers will establish and enforce a policy of
absolutely prohibiting all political discussion here, and will immediately
ban from the list everyone who disregards that rule.

(I'm sorry for the lateness of this note, but I'm in the digest mode and
receive the messages late.)
