Nel, you might as well tell us what makes this an indisputable fact, just
for our own edification ....please?

If it really is indisputable, then "my father Edward" probably is a clerk's
error, which I've seen many of like that (transposing or duplicating the
wrong name) - but of course you'd need another document for corroborating
evidence!
