Did George Washington have any children? My research does not show that he
did. However, The Washington Post writer Linda Wheeler writing in the paper
the other day in an article headed "Gen. Lee's daughter's belongings found"
states that "Mary Custis Lee was the second child of the four daughters and
three sons born to Lee and his wife, Mary, granddaughter of George
Washington." Should this not be his step granddaughter? George Washington
was married to Mrs. Martha Dandridge Custis who had children by Custis. None
are shown by George Washington.
