Hi folks

Happy New Year.

For those that might have an interest, I have gotten the following new things
online at New River Notes http://www.ls.net/~newriver/nrv.htm

On the Books page:
An article on the Evolution of the Mason-Dixon Line (see under Maryland)
An article on the Justice of the Mexican War (see under the United States)

On the main page, under Chataigne's Gazetteer and Virginia Business Directory
Added directories for Bath, Elizabeth City and Essex Counties. These are for
the year 1888, and are as close as one will get to the missing 1890 census,
except for the 1890 tax list. There are several counties online already, and
I am working on others.

Click on Wythe County on the map for a small booklet entitled "A Short
Historical and Physical Description of Wythe County, Virginia" This was
published in 1907 for distribution at the Jamestown Ter-centennial Exhibition.

And finally the largest file, and perhaps the most important new thing in
this list:
Thomson's Virginia Mercantile and Professional Directory. This one is linked
from the main page. It covers all of Virginia and what is now West Virginia.

Warm regards
