Would appreciate some input on the following.
"before his departure to England, out of the confidence he had in the
sd Hale, comitted Robert Pollard, his son, to the tuition of sd
Hale, his godfather, which Robert Pollard (decd) & sd Nicholas Hale
is by this Court appointed Trustee for the sd Robert Pollard, ye
soone, until he accomplish his respective age, he the said Hale
giving security according to Acte."
My impressions are that Nicholas Hale was the godfather of Robert
Pollard, the younger, and when Robert Pollard, the elder, went to
England he placed his son in the guardianship (tuition) of Hale.
Pollard Sr. died in England and the Court appointed Hale the guardian
and trustee of the Pollard estate until young Pollard reached his
majority. Is this a correct description?
The second question is -- does this transaction indicate that the
mother/wife of Robert Pollard was deceased as she is never mentioned
in any of the following transactions that Hale made concerning the
estate of Pollard Sr.?
Thanks,
Linda Lawhon
