The first one I have any good documents on is JAMES RAMSOM 1704 Isle of Wight
County, Va d. 1740 Surry Co. who married GRISSELL GWATHMEY

Their son, JAMES RANSOM m. AMY DAVIS of Isle of Wight County and moved to
Bute County, NC where they had their familiy.

Their son, CAPT. RICHARD RANSOM (REV WAR) b 1752 Isle of Wight Co-d1827
Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, TN married KESIAH/KIZZIAH PORTIS in Halifax
County, NC in 1784.

Their son, JOHN A. RANSOM b1792 Rutherford Co, TN d 1849 m. ELIZABETH BOWMAN
(dtr of REV. JOHN BOWMAN (Presb)NC>TN and MARGARET ROSEBOROUGH)

Their daughter, MARY JANE RANSOM m REV. CHARLES BLACKMAN (KIT)FARIS
(METH-EPISCOPAL) They were my great great grandparents.

Their daughter, MARTHA SUSAN FARIS m EDWARD LELAND JORDAN
Their daughter, FANNIE ELZABETH JORDAN m JOSEPH LEE BURNETT
They were my paternal grandparents.
