I have not worked on this line in over 20 years -- and really need to get back to it -- but in my notes this is what I have.  Although I could be wrong.  If you have Col. Fields will, I would recheck it.  I also may be in error about Lawrence's second wife.

LAWRENCE SLAUGHTER

Spotsylvania County, Virginia

His first wife Elizabeth was the daughter of Col. John Field, his brother George married Elizabeth's sister Mary. Lawrence was the executor of Col. John's will. In that will John bequeathed to Elizabeth and Lawrence land known as 'Joy Bottom' and 'Stanton's Encampment.'
