At the time of her death in 1782, my direct ancestress the indomitable
Hannah (Lee) Corbin had a plantation in Westmoreland County, VA known as
Jenningses. She was first married to Gawin Corbin and then had a liason with a Dr.
Richard Lingan Hall). She mentions this plantation in her will and there was a
sale of personal property there.. Yet this plantation does not show up in
Mary R. Miller's Place Names of the Northern Neck nor is it in Westmoreland
County, VA (the book printed in 1983 by the Westmoreland Board of Supervisors) or
I do not find it in any deeds in the Westmoreland Circuit Clerk's Office
nor Eubank's Authentic Guide Book to the Historic Northern Neck. There are a
number of individuals named Jennings in the Colonial period but I cannot tie
them in to this plantation. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions ? William
