Mickey Fournier,

Yes, the National Genealogical Society still offers
its correspondence course. Click on URL below,
then on "Study Course":

http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/

The following is from their Internet information:

Since 1981 more than 6,000 people have enrolled in the NGS home study course, American Genealogy: A
Basic Course. A unique educational opportunity in genealogy, the course is accredited by the
Distance Education and Training Council.

The course is designed for all those who want to do genealogical research more effectively and
efficiently. Sixteen lessons provide an introduction to each of the major record groups used in
American genealogical research and require "hands-on" experience with the records. There is also
instruction in basic record keeping, documentation of sources, and evaluation of evidence.
