Hey, Ms. Robin: been to that county? looked at that counties most recent postings on its OWN gen. site? joined their little society? made a contact there? submitted queries? exhausted every single census that MIGHT reveal your lady? found a local genealogists who might cast some light on the family? tracked down the "wheres" of her children and what THEY later said about their parents in later censuses (if anything)? read all the county histories published or non-published for that county and its genesis counties? exhausted all newspapers that might have noted deaths of that area? checked PERSI for her name or that of her husband? looked at any records of any local medical association? asked at the local med. society what happened to its physician's records? checked at the state archives for med records that reveal anything about the months after the birth of your GFather? Checked all local church records (or at the archives for that faith) for any death or incapacity of that woman?

Generally speaking, when all else fails, we must give up trying to jump those hurdles - brick walls - and start earlier with every one of that surname in all areas from which that family may have migrated, and to which any member might have returned or been taken at death or at senility. You must eliminate others with that surname as ancestors or evidence of your family, and do so by moving forward from them toward now. Remember, everyone was someWHERE every day of their lives; those "wheres" are the keys to every brick wall of every one of us. Paul
