Searching for the parents and siblings of WILLIAM NORTHCUTT born c.1760 in
Virginia, specific county unknown. Also searching for any information on his
first wife ELIZABETH ADAMS said to be "of Virginia." William fought in the
American Revolution as one of Marion's men, settling in Darlington Co., SC. By
1784, Elizabeth Adams seems to have died and William remarried. Any known
children are by his 2nd wife. The only known thing about Elizabeth is that she
is mentioned in a manuscript as William's first wife, the source not being
cited. She probably would have been born about 1760 also. Where they married is
not clear, whether in Virginia, North Carolina or South Carolina. William
married a second time and by his second wife had children: Robert, John, William
Nelson, Willoughby Webster, Lacy, Elizabeth, Milly, Nancy, Mary Alice. If anyone
has an Adams or Northcutt family with that kind of naming pattern that could
lead to either person's birth family, it would be deeply appreciated. Both
William and his first wife Elizabeth have had me stymied for some years now.
