And I would also recommend "Genealogical Proof Standard, Building a  
Solid Case" by Christine Rose, CG. It describes a higher standard of  
proof adopted by the Board for Certification of Genealogists as a  
replacement for the "preponderance of proof" standard. The  
preponderance of proof standard is a concept borrowed or derived from  
the legal system. BCG felt a higher standard was needed for  
genealogical proof. It may be over-kill for the casual genealogist,  
but it is an important discussion of how to resolve genealogy  
questions when there is conflicting information.
