Hi listers,
Could use suggestions on where to look for further info on my
g.g.grandfather, William Sterling. According to 1850 census he was born (best guess)
1790, this is hard to read because of writing over it, etc. in Scotland. He's
married to Jennet, with 2 sons, John b. 1840/1841(my g. grandfather) and
George b. abt 1841, both in VA. Jennet is 2nd wife of William. Found marriage
for them took place Richmond, 1849.
I don't find Wm. or Jennet any further. John fights in Civil War,
captured, excapes....winds up in Pennsylvania. I've followed John without problems.
Don't know where to look for anything else on Wm. or Jennet. Help!
