For early spellings of Virginia ancestors, I have often found it helpful
to check the 1704 Virginia Tax Roll which is available online at
USGenWeb. There is no BRETT listed but there are two BRITTs; John Britt
of Isle of Wight Co., and William Britt of Nansemond Co., Va.
