The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House Lecture Series will take place at noon on Tuesday, 15
January, 2002, in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby in the Library
of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond.

The speaker will be Carey Howlett, independent conservator and formerly
Director of Conservation for Colonial Williamsburg. He will be speaking on
the topic, "A New Understanding of Jefferson's Model for the Capitol of
Virginia." Mr. Howlett directed the recently completed conservation of the
1786 plaster model of Virginia's Capitol building. The model is currently on
display in the Library's recently opened exhibition, "Jefferson and the
Capitol of Virginia."

There is free underground parking for Library patrons. For more information
on this and other programs and services of the Library of Virginia please
visit the Library's web site at http://www.lva.lib.va.us or call
804-692-3592.
