I agree, Cynthia, but The First Families website puts all the others down and
touts its own site as being correct. If they wish to make such a claim, they
should require that all data arrive with hard copies of sources and these
sources should be checked before the data is placed on the website.
Otherwise, they are no better than all the others, including the fraudulent
ones they have listed. As far as I am concerned, they are all fraudulent.

Here is the proof that Capt. William Powell isn't a brother to Governor
Nathaniel Powell:

From "The complete book of Emigrants, 1607-1776" (and seen in other court
record sources as well)

21 July 1626, to the Governor of Virginia. A petition has been made by Thomas
Powell, brother and administrator of Captain Nathaniel Powell deceased in
Virginia, stating that in consideration of the poverty of his brothers, and
sisters it is ordered that the proceeds of his estate be put to the use of
the poor. The Virginia Company have certified that one William Powell, being
no way of kin, has taken out letters of administration in Virginia and has
seized the boods (I don't know if that should be Goods or Books) of Captain
John Hudleston in Virginia. The said William Powell is since deceased and
Nathaniel Powell's estate is come to Mr. Blanye that married his wife.
Thomas Powell, elder brother of said Nathaniel Powell, has taken out letters
of administration in the Prerogative Court of Centerbury. You are to assess
the value of the estate and send the value of it in tobacco to England."

..another entry: 1607-1776"
October 1654. Depositions to the descent of property in Virginia owned by
(Captain) William Powell, son of John Powell of St. Olave, Southwark, Surrey,
brewer."
