I was think I could maybe find something in Orange County or King & Queen
county where our family lived back in 1600s and 1700s.

Google the history of education in the united states. It gives you a good
general run down. From there you could research specifics.

Does anyone know if there were schools for children in the late 1600s and
early 1700s?
