Well, I am going to give Brent some leeway here.  We all have to agree that Thomas Jefferson had children and Sally Hemings had children, we just don't agree that there is evidence the two of them had any together.

I think it is important for Hemings descendants to learn more on the Hemings side, I would never deny anyone that.

That said, when the Book Signing announcement was written, it can be seen accurately IF we translate "their" to mean "theirs individually".  BUT, in keeping with the vagueness of the Jefferson-gene decision/discussion, more importantly, if you read what was posted, at no time is "Jefferson" preceded by "Thomas", with the singular exception to the listing of a prior book by title.

How's that for agreement?  Wordsmithing can be fun.

I would normally agree. However, this topic has been argued at length
previously at this list (moreso at VA-HIST) where absolutely no evidence for
claiming Thomas Jefferson fathered children with Sally Hemmings is to be
found. What is so terrible are the falsehoods about TJ and SH being said so
many times that the general public is now taking such as truth. For example
is Brent Tarter's book-talk posting that claims:
"The Hemingses of Monticello tells more than the story of Sally
Hemings'
life with Jefferson and their children."
What a wrongful inclusion.
