Actually there were three Josephs:
Ancestry.com 1850 census Franklin Co., VA image 11 census p.64A 6th August
1850 R.C. Woods Ass't Marshal
#76/76 Joseph Peters farmer 100 & shows family as you have stated.
Image 140 census p.128B 21st. Oct. 1850 R.C. Woods
#1016/1012 Michael Peters, wife & another female
#1017/1013 Daniel Peters & wife
#1018/1014 Joseph Peters 31 wife Dorinda, 4 children
Image 163 census p.140A 31st. Oct. 1850 R.C. Woods
#1184/1179 Joseph Peters farmer 150 & shows family as you have stated.
Personally, I'd say this is the same family and someone else gave the family
information for one of the households. They were most likely living in the
1st. one since the youngest child's age is given as 8/12 in that household.
It's also interesting that the 10 yr. old daughter's name changes in the two
households to match the mother's (Martha - Margaret)
