There were certainly marriages in Albemarle Co., VA from it creation in 
1745, up until 1780.  The referenced book apparently simply does not include 
them.  Marriage records in Albemarle Co., VA before 1780 might be available 
only at the courthouse....and perhaps on microfilm, at places like the 
Library of VA (which can probably accessed via interlibrary loan).

Goochland Co., VA was created from a part of Henrico Co., VA in 1727/1728, 
and Henrico was one of the original "shires" in VA.  Buckingham (1761), 
Amherst (1761) and Fluvanna Co., VA (1777) were all created from Albemarle.
