Greetings,
I am seeking info on a white Adolphus CHANDLER.

Adolphus 45y has $1,400 Real Estate, and $1,200 in per property, is found in
1860 census in Halifax Co Va.
Adolphus was also listed in the 1860 Slave Schedules as having had 6 slaves.

In 1860 Adolphus is living with free Blacks:
Melunia (SP) Byrd 40y, with $ 100 in Real Estate, $ 50 in per property
Susan Byrd 40y,
and Susan Byrd 8 mo.

In 1870 I did not find Adolphus.

Adolphus died of Pneumonia 15 Dec. 1872, listed as being 50y of age.
His parent was listed as Elizabeth.

I suspect my great grandmother Nannie Chandler was a slave of Adolphus.
Larry
