Hi to the list

To all of you and most especially to Carol Turner
"Shedding light on the Docupen"...I thank you for your
replies.

Since Carol has actually had hands on demonstration of
this tool, I believe her advice is what I needed to
hear. Of course, the books that I am interested in
copying will be old handwriting which will be saved as
graphics that was one of my questions to the sales
rep...never could get a satisfactory answer from her.
I realize that this does make a difference in how much
one could scan and save before it must be downloaded
to another storage device, but whether this is one
page or ten or twenty vs the 100 for a typed page...

IMHO the "wear" on the old book by passing the Docupen
scanner over the page would be greatly reduced vs
taking that same oversized book to the copy machine
and then pressing downward on the spine, fragile pages
folding back on themselves, and coming loose, and
tearing, etc.

I would enjoy learning where Carol found the Docupen
demonstrated.

As to suggestions for using digital camera, I think
the results would be great; however, as one lister
mentioned - placing the book on the floor and standing
over it with the camera is almost out of my physical
capabilities due to arthritis. It might work for just
a couple of pages, though.

Thanks to all of you for reading and taking time to
reply. You are a great bunch!

P.S. Pat Baber are you still here?
