Help Needed on Patton Family Genealogy

My 3x great grandfather was Alexander Patton, b. 24 Aug 1803 in Stafford, VA.  He married Achsah Anna C. Oakley, b. 1810, on 11 May 1830 in Madison, VA.  They had a son, George Washington Patton b. 6 Jul 1835.  The family lived in Gibson Co., TN until their deaths, Alexander on 18 May 1875 and Anna in 1879.
I think but do not have proof that Alexander was the son of George Gordon Patton. 1757-1813 and Sarah Stringfellow, 1766-1848.  Alexander was the 10th child of George and Sarah born in Stafford Co., VA.
Can anyone shed any light on this family and their possible connections???
