BlankJanet has reminded us that the 16 year old Rev. War vet. mentioned in the previous "who was the heir" question was dead at the end of the war, hence "primogeniture" applied. She is correct and I was wrong, since that ancient legal doctrine was not abolished in VA till 1785 (at Jefferson's urging). I am sorry. Moral to the story? Be careful and think before you write. :-)
Had the young veteran died after in 1785 or after, my analysis would have been correct, since parents, and not siblings, inherit from one who is under age at death. Paul
