Subject: [VA-ROOTS] Cecil Jones, Lexington, VA/Philadelphia, PA.

  Hello List,

I am attempting to find more information on my great grand Uncle, Cecil
Jones, born in Lexington, VA, 1880. He died in Philadelphia, Pa in 1933.
There is additional information on him at the Philadelphia Hospital for
  Mental Diseases. Family, etc.

Would anyone know where to get patient information from the "now closed"
Philadelphia Hospital for Mental Diseases? (Also called Byberry State
Hospital) It opened in 1907 and closed in 1990. The State of Pennsylvania
took over the hospital around 1936. It was abandoned for about 16 years and
then demolition of most buildings occurred. I am wondering if their records
were preserved anywhere and how to access them.

  Thanks,

  Aurelia
