The Virginia Genealogical Society is pleased announce the release of "Index
to Virginia Estates, 1800-1865," Volume 2, compiled by Wesley E.
Pippenger.  This volume includes references to estate documents for the
counties of Clarke, Culpeper, Frederick, Greene, Madison, Orange, Page,
Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Spotsylvania and Warren, and the cities of
Fredericksburg and Winchester.  Printed 2001, xxiv + 849 pp., Smyth-sewn,
ISBN: 1-888192-31-3.

Copies are available for $45 ($36 member) plus $4 shipping ($1 each

This volume presents nearly 51,000 records.  Listed are references to 6,028
wills, of which approximately 525 are for persons outside the location
where the record was found.  Also included are 8,860 inventories and
appraisals; 11,072 accounts or settlements; 10,821 guardianship bonds and
accounts; 236 plats; 272 court suits; 111 renunciations; and over 6,125
bonds of various types.
