Just a reminder, suggested by a recent unsuccessful attempt to forward
an announcment from one list to our lists by means of an attachment:

Attachments are not permitted on Va-Hist or Va-Roots because they are
one of the ways by which viruses and other computer bugs circulate. Even
plain text attachments are not supposed to be sent.

If you wish to forward a text from something you received by an
attachment, just copy the clean text directly into the e-mail that you
post to Va-Hist.
