Hello to the list.

I have been reviewing census enumerations for some 15 years now...I often see
mention by others who are quoting a family located in the census "next door".


I can see this in the later census, where a street address is listed.  But -
the earlier ones?  How can anyone see a name listed next as "next door".  Is
there something here that I am missing?
