The Appomattox Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy is
working with the Old Concord Presbyterian Church of Spout Springs to
research the names and individual grave locations of persons buried in the
churches 4 cemeteries. The cemetery locations are:
#1 This cemetery was originally in Bedford County, then Campbell in 1784,
then Appomattox in 1845. It is in the woods approximately 30 feet off Route
718 between intersection with Route 609 and 460. It is beyond the present
day Concord Cemetery.
#2 This cemetery is located across the railroad tracks from Route 460 to
Route 648 on land now owned by Mickie Thompson. This is the road to
Paradise Lake.
#3 This cemetery is located from Route 460 about .5 mile on Route 648 at
Spout Springs on the left side of the road across from the present brick
church.
#4 This cemetery is located behind the present church.

The original church dates to about 1735 and their records were, at best,
poorly kept, some lost, and some may have been destroyed.

The church members wish to fill in the gaps and write the history of the
church and its cemeteries. This massive task cannot be done without the
help of the citizens of the area who had family that were born into the
church, married at the church, and buried in the churches cemeteries. We
are asking anyone who has information concerning the Old Concord
Presbyterian Church to please contact us with any information that will
help reconstruct this wonderful old church history. Without the help of
genealogist, family historians, family Bibles, family histories this will
be almost impossible. Please help us by contacting Ronnie Carter at
