What about insemination that is anonymous?
Donors can come from either sex. Two donors
can be used or one. You want to talk about a
brick wall, try cracking a medical record that
may or may not contain the information you
seek! It's got to be more like a stainless
steel wall. No envy here. Could DNA testing
help those in this position when they don't
know their true surname? This is a present
issue because this practice has been going on
for decades and it will become a bigger problem
for genealogists as time goes on.

Anyone considering the future, and prersent problems, trying to trace
all these illigitamate children being born today, and the many other non
  traditional family births?

This should be a nightmare unless people document everything well..... I have wondered how it is that half sibblings won't meet, fall in love and marry........No one can be sure of anything anymore........What a huge mess this will be......
