Charlotte County. . . Rich Indeed lists the following Lawsons, but no

cities or towns.
                1826, June 6 - renewed license

Benjamin - 1819 - Rev. War soldier

entertainment
                     1860, April 2 - " " "

Hugh - present at the first term of court for Lunenburg County May 1745.
Lunenburg was created from Brunswick Co., Charlotte was created from
Lunenburg in 1765.

Robert - 1769 - sworn as an attorney in Charlotte Co.
1781 - Col. later Gen. Robert Lawson of Prince Edward Co.
was placed in command of the Charlotte Militia (I think he
was regular army, not militia)

Sarah - 1848, May 1 - license for H of PE (might be James's widow since he
disappears at this point)
1849, May 7 - Mrs. Sarah Lawson, renewed
                1850, May 6 - renewed
                1851, May 6 - renewed

T. G. - Charlotte Greys, Co. I, 56th Infantry

William - postmaster, Midland P.O. - Midland was established in 1836,
discontinued in 1839, re-opened in 1843 and permanently closed in 1855.
Other postmasters were John Osbourne and G. Ullman.

That is all the info found in the book. The info was taken from original
records here in Charlotte. I don't know anything else about the Lawson
family. There is no way of knowing from this book if the mulitple listings
for a name refer to the same person or not.

I hope this helps a little.

Good luck!
Kathy Liston
