I am researching information on my great great grandfather, John Kidwell. From civil war records, I've found that John was born in Leesburg, Loudoun County, Virginia in 1831.

I would love to know the names of his parents and siblings and possible may have narrowed it down to a handful of possible matches. His 1880 census records (the only census records I can find for him) state that his parents were born in VA also -a possible lead? John's 2nd wife, though not the mother of his son Charles, was Mary Ellen Young. John died in 1884 from complications of a civil war injury.

Due to me living in Illinois, it's not easy for me to acquire VA vital records and such. I do subscribe to Ancestry and search regularly, but I've come to a brick wall.

Thanks in advance to those who might have info on John.

Erin
