Hello all,
We are pretty sure that the problem described below is due to bounce backs from AOL-based email addresses. This is likely due to AOL's machines deciding that VA-ROOTS listserv messages are SPAM. After so many tries and subsequent bounce backs, our machine decides that the email address is invalid. Things like this will happen when machines are talking to each other--until they become fully sentient, I suppose.
There is really nothing that we can do on our end. We recommend that users re-subscribe using another email service.
Gregg

Subject: [VA-ROOTS] List Removal Messages to AOL accounts
Hello all,
A number of subscribers who have their email through AOL have contacted me about receiving a notice from VA-ROOTS that says they have been removed from the list. We are looking into the issue. Please continue to report any problems
Thanks,
