Janice-- My g.g.g Grandfather James Williams was a Lieutenant at the
Valley Forge encampment from December 18 1777 until June 19, 1778 with
George Washington. After that he was promoted to Captain and served
until the end of the war. I do not know for sure who his father was but
he is thought to be Charles Williams born 12 May 1722 in Bristol Parish
,VA,who had 7 children (Benjamin, Susanna, James , Sarah, Francis and
Olive Williams). This Charles Williams was the son of James Williams the
son of John Williams and his wife Mary Jones. I have proof that my
ancestor was James Williams the Rev.
War soldier.

I have no record of a William Williams.

        Sincerely,

Reginald L. Vassar
