I find a Wm. H. Kelly in the 1880 census for Pine Top, Middlesex, VA age 65, born in SC, living with wife Nancy, age 50, born in Maryland. His father was born in France, mother in Germany. He is a ship carpenter. Others in the household are Byron D. Kelly, 21, sailor; Rinthia Kelly, 16, at home; Bertha Kelly, 10, at home; Ida E. Lyons, 21, daughter; Annie Hughes, 4, granddaughter.

Source Citation: Year: 1880; Census Place: Pine Top, Middlesex, Virginia; Roll T9_1378; Family History Film: 1255378; Page: 273.1000; Enumeration District: 50; .

I also find a Wm. H. Kelley in the 1900 Pine Top, Middlesex, VA census. Age 77, birth listed as Dec 1822. Says his father was born in Ireland, mother in Pennsylvania. Wife Nancy, 65, born 1835 in Maryland. Says they married in 1847 and she was the mother of 12 children, with 7 still living. An 11 year old grandson lives with them, name hard to make out clearly.
Source Citation: Year: 1900; Census Place: Pine Top, Middlesex, Virginia; Roll T623_1717; Page: 8A; Enumeration District: 55.

Chances are they are the same person.

Subject: [VA-ROOTS] William Henry Kelly and his wife, Nancy Mitchell Hancock

Hello all. I am looking for information on a William Henry Kelly and his
wife, Nancy Mitchell Hancock. They moved to Deltaville, Middlesex, Virginia
in the mid-1800's. I believe Nancy was from Baltimore.

I realize these people are not "Virginian's"; but I thought maybe someone
might know of whom I am speaking.

  Thank you.
