I wasn't born during that era (I was born in '54); but it IS interesting the
predictive books written during that era. Another was BRAVE NEW WORLD by
Aldous Huxley.  I have read about and listened to relatives tell of their
experiences during the Depression.  Persons back then didn't seem to mind
"pulling up their boot straps" and doing whatever they had to do to save or
make a nickel or go without until times got better.  America had grit then.
